Frequently Asked Questions
How does delivery work?
Delivery to your door, or your preferred pick up location. At this time we are delivering within Edmonton and surrounding area.
Do you make modifications for allergies?
Yes we can modify recipes to accommodate for allergies. Please order ahead of time to give us ample time to create an allergen-free batch for you.
How long does the food last in the freezer or fridge?
Our meals are made up of whole food preservative free ingredients. They will last you several months in the fridge, but we recommend consuming within 3 months. As for the fridge, once thawed it will last up to 5 days if kept in an air sealed container.
How many meals do I get per container?
Each container contains between 2-4 servings. Depending on how hungry you are and which meal you're eating. For example, our Berry Bliss Porridge usually works for 2 servings. The heartier meals like the Warm Chuck Stew can be stretched to 4 servings.
Can anyone eat these meals?
Yes! Although we are targeting postpartum Mom's anyone can eat the food. Whether that's Dad or your kids. Prenatal moms or whoever would like nutrient dense warm meals. My Grandma loves the primal chili!
How do I thaw/reheat?
To thaw, please place our container in the fridge the day before. It is best reheated on the stovetop or microwave. You can always add extra water/broth or coconut milk to thin the dish. For the baked goods, you can reheat in oven, or microwave.
Why organ meat? Can I taste it?
Organ meat from happy, healthy cows is the most nutrient dense food you can eat. Liver for example is high in iron and vitamin B12, the exact nutrients that we lose immediately after birth. Consuming these vitamins can help restore your energy levels making you feel more ready to take on the day. Organs feature in 3 of our dishes the Ancestral Chili, Sausage Stew and Lemon Ginger Chicken Congee. We have done a good job of hiding them, so you wont taste it, but will still reap the health benefits!
